The Lion the witch and the wardrobe
My husband's favourite author is C.S. Lewis. He started reading C.S. Lewis books as a teenager, with the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe as one of his favourites. Now, our 7 year old boy is hooked to these books too. After watching my son and then my husband each spend hours reading these books, I read the book myself too. My husband would stay up until 2 a.m. to read the books. My son would spend the afternoon reading them. We bought the entire set of books, The Chronicals of Narnia, by C.S. Lewis for the entire family to enjoy.
I ended up staying past midnight just to finish reading that book. It was mesmerizing. It is a book meant for children, yet with more depth so it also appeals to grown ups. A literary classic. About 4 children who discover an enchanted wardrobe and through the wardrobe, the enter a magical world ruled by the white witch. The white witch claimed to be the queen of Narnia and cast a spell on that place so it is always winter but never Christmas.
There was a prophecy involving Aslan the lion, the 4 children of Adam and the end of the witch's rule.
