The White Witch
The White Witch is the main villian in the story, the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. She rules Narnia and with her spells, Narnia is always winter and never Christmas. A miserable place to be. Her subjects, the talking animals and other magical creatures are terrified of her. Her spies are many throughout Narnia. There was a prophecy that her rule would end when Aslan, the Lion returns. An event the entire Narnia is hoping for.
The White Witch is not a native of Narnia. In the story The Magician's Nephew, which traces the origins of Narnia, we find that the White Witch came from another world, woken up by a boy (the magician's nephew) in a naughty moment of curiousity. The boy and the girl were hopping from world to world. The White Witch had already destroyed her world. She followed the boy and girl to our world and wreaked havoc there. Then she secretly followed them to another world they visited where they witnessed the creation of Narnia. Hence evil, in the form of the white witch had entered the beautiful new world. Aslan took it upon himself to take on the worst that this evil would bring.
