As a mom who is so-called net-savvy, I'm worried sick about my kids safety on the internet. The most obvious fears are of my kids befriending predators. Wolves in sheeps clothing who befriend kids, gaining their trust so that they can easily molest these kids in the future or kidnap them or lead them into various vices.
Then there is the fear of kids stumbling upon inappropriate materials while surfing the internet.
My preteen son gave me a cyber wellness handbook issued by the school to help parents guide kids on the issue of cyber safety. As I read the booklet, I thought about how I could get the information across to my kids in a way they can relate to. The book is by Touch cyber wellness and sports.
I wrote the following articles, with the accompanying cartoons for my own kids, but do feel free to share these with your kids too so that they too will be aware of how to avoid these cyber dangers.
