As a kid, I spent hours with my cousins playing the classic monopoly game. Collecting $200 everytime you pass go, buying property, collecting rent, paying rent.. hey, how many multi-millionaire real estate owners got into investing because of playing monopoly as kids?
Monopoly rules have not changed over the decades. Get into jail if you land on the go to jail square. Buying apartments or hotels (now sky scrapers) if you have the entire color group. Collecting rent from other players using monopoly money. Getting a windfall or into trouble when you draw the monopoly cards
Some things never change. Some things do. In the past, there was that little guy in a top hat and a white moustache, the mascot for monopoly. Now, there is star wars monopoly, simpsons monopoly, disney monopoly and so many versions of monopoly featuring favourite movies or cartoon or sport. The monopoly game board would reflect the new theme. For example Spiderman monopoly game would have properties like Aunt May"s house, Oscorp lab.. and other scenes from the movie. The monopoly pieces would feature the chosen theme as well. Spiderman monopoly has venom, sandman, and spiderman in different poses as the monopoly pieces.

Decades ago, my cousins and I played monopoly. My husband enjoyed the game thoroughly in his childhood. I got a spiderman monopoly game for our kids and they were totally hooked, until they ended up fighting over the game as usual. Still, this would be a great educational game for kids. It teaches them about money. They practice their math throughout the game without realizing it, having to pay and collect rent and buy properties.
